### WATERFRONT WHIP-LASH!

#### Feds Flop in Bid to Cage Olympic Paddler Over Peeling Paint!

**WASHINGTON —** A high-society attempt by the Administration’s top legal eagles to lock up a local sportsman hit a snag in the halls of justice Thursday! District Attorney Jeanine Pirro tried to throw the book at David Hearn, a former Olympic canoe champion, demanding he be barred from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. But the honorable Judge Carmen McLean told the government to take a hike, handing the prosecution a cold splash in the kisser!

“The G-men have got nothing but a pocketful of wind,” argued Hearn’s slick mouthpiece, Mary Dohrmann, before the bench.

Another legal wizard on Hearn’s team, Norm Eisen, chimed in with some straight talk: “Every John Q. Public should have his hair stand on end over this frame-up! It ain't no crime to touch the water!”

The Feds are singing a song of "destruction of property," a rap that could land the champion paddler in the state pen for a ten-year stretch if the jury finds him guilty. D.A. Pirro claims Hearn “forcefully and violently” ripped two square feet of fancy blue paint off the basin. Hearn says that’s pure baloney—he only touched a piece of paint that was already curling up like a stale sandwich.

“The puddle was in the exact same shape when I walked away as when I got there,” Hearn told reporters.

It turns out the Big Cheese himself, President Trump, blew a cool 14 million greenbacks of the taxpayers' dough on the pool, painting the bottom blue and then dumping a load of hydrogen peroxide into the drink to kill off the green slime. The fizz backfired, causing the fancy paint to peel on its own! Unwilling to take the rap for the blunder, the Administration is crying "sabotage," and Pirro has already pinched four fellas over the mess, including Hearn.

But the sporting crowd is sticking by their boy. Adam Van Grack, a big wig in the canoeing world, told the press that Hearn is a swell guy who has spent years keeping the Potomac clean for local oarsmen.

“The idea that this red-blooded American is a malicious pool-wrecker is a load of hooey!” Van Grack barked.

Meanwhile, the President insists the pool is grand, even as his boys are draining the bathtub once again.

### PERSIA POWDER KEG!

#### “We’ll Give ’Em the Old One-Two!” Says Washington as Ceasefire Crumbles!

**ANKARA —** There’ll be no truce in the desert anytime soon, folks! The drums of war are beating louder by the hour.

Insiders in Washington whispered Thursday that the bloodshed in the East is set to boil over, depending on whether the Persian forces keep taking potshots at commercial steamers in the Strait of Hormuz.

“We’re gonna slap ’em a bit so they know we ain’t fooling around,” one high-ranking Washington official growled behind closed doors.

The peace treaty went up in smoke because the high-hats in Tehran grew sour. They found out that even with U.S. sanctions lifted, global bankers wouldn’t touch their oil trade with a ten-foot pole. On top of that, billions of Persian clams frozen in international banks are still locked tight, despite the treaties.

The Big Boss, Donald Trump, signaled at a NATO confab in Turkey that he is through chin-wagging with the foreign leaders.

“I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They’re scum,” Trump barked to the press pool. When asked what changed his mind, he shrugged, “I got to know ’em.”

With Ukrainian Chief Volodymyr Zelenskiy sitting just inches away, Trump talked tough, boasting that Uncle Sam could “knock down every single bridge in Persia” in twenty-four hours.

“There’s not a thing they can do about it,” the President boasted. “If we have to, we’ll take ’em out. Maybe we’ll grab Kharg Island. They won't do a lick about it.”

### EPSTEIN’S MOLL IN A TIGHT SQUEEZE!

#### Dames Cry “Perjury!” as Secretary’s Story to Congress Turns Out to Be Applesauce!

**NEW YORK —** The ghost of the late, disgraced high-society swindler Jeffrey Epstein continues to haunt the headlines! Several brave young dames have stepped forward to accuse Epstein’s personal Gal Friday, Lesley Groff, of telling tall tales to a Congressional committee.

Groff took the stand last month, swearing on a stack of Bibles that she never met any of the young girls who visited Epstein’s mansion, and knew nothing of their ages.

“She’s lying through her pearly whites!” countered Marina Lacerda, who was not yet fourteen when she met the millionaire back in ’02. “Just me and my pals, she met at least three or four of us.”

Another witness, Sharlene Rochard, a former Gotham model, said she ran into Groff “multiple times in different joints.” Other gals told the press that Groff kept tabs on their ages, ordered them to show school IDs, and even helped them fill out passport applications at Epstein’s Manhattan office.

Yet, when Representative Suhas Subramanyam gave Groff the third degree about the passports, she played dumb, saying she "never had anything to do with them."

The dames also claim Groff was the paymaster, stuffing envelopes with crisp hundred-dollar bills to pay for their visits. Groff denied paying anyone on Epstein’s behalf, but the victim pile says otherwise. Despite the jaw-dropping revelations, the District Attorney has yet to slap handcuffs on any of Epstein’s old gang.

### THE BIG CHEESE FORKS OVER THE COIN!

#### Court Orders Trump to Pay Advice Columnist Five Million Clams—No More Stalling!

**NEW YORK —** The legal circus is over for the President’s checkbook! Late Wednesday, the appeals court told Trump’s shysters to scram, denying his last-minute plea to keep his money under lock and key.

Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered the immediate release of 5 million dollars in court-held funds to E. Jean Carroll, the well-known scribe who took Trump to the cleaners three years ago in a civil suit over a 1995 department store scuffle.

Trump’s legal team tried a "Hail Mary" pass to the Supreme Court, but the high judges in Washington refused to play ball.

In a stinging six-page letter, Judge Kaplan noted that the President “has been stalling this case for years,” adding, “It is time for him to pay the judgment.”

This ain't the end of the line for the President's pocketbook, either. A jury recently awarded Carroll another whopping 83.3 million dollars in a defamation suit after Trump told the papers she wasn’t his “type” and accused her of making up the whole yarn to sell books.

Carroll’s lead mouth-piece, Roberta Kaplan, filed papers Tuesday demanding the court hurry up the payout, saying, “It is time for this show to close.”

### TRAGEDY ON THE RIO GRANDE!

#### Family of Mexican Citizen Gunned Down by Immigration Flatfoots Demands Justice!

**HOUSTON —** The family of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo is in mourning, calling for a full investigation after the hardworking family man was plugged and killed by federal immigration agents on a Texas street.

At a tearful press gathering Wednesday, his boy, Ronaldo Salgado, described the horror of finding out about his father’s demise on the wire.

“I saw a video on the Facebook,” Ronaldo sobbed, his voice cracking. “I recognized him immediately—not by his face, but by his voice, crying out for help as he lay in the dirt, bleeding to death.”

Ronaldo rushed to the construction site, then to the hospital, but says he got the run-around from the coppers. “I learned of my father’s passing from a news report, not the law,” he said.

Salgado Araujo had no criminal sheet and had submitted his papers for a legal work permit eighteen months ago. His family says he would have surrendered peacefully if he’d known the men in unmarked tin lizzies were federal agents.

The Department of Homeland Security claims the agent fired in self-defense, alleging Salgado Araujo "weaponized his automobile" to run them down. But legal watchdogs say that’s the same old tune the Feds play every time they get trigger-happy.

This marks the tenth fatal shooting by immigration flatfoots during the President's second term in office.

“He did not deserve to die,” his boy wept. “He deserved to live a quiet life as a husband, a father, and a provider.”

Poem

The reflecting pool is painted blue,

But chemicals have stripped the dye;

They blame the man who paddled through,

And mask the truth with a grand lie.

In distant sands, the war drums beat,

Where kings and chiefs talk big and bold;

They threaten ruin in the heat,

As ancient promises grow cold.

The secretary weaves a thread

To hide the ledger's darkest shame,

While girls remember words she said,

And boldly call her by her name.

The court has spoke, the ledger clears,

The silver slips from grasping hands;

A lady triumphs after years,

Despite the tyrant's loud demands.

But down in Texas, dust and lead

Leave weeping kin to search the night,

Another working man is dead,

Beneath the shadow of state might.
